Cessna Staff Welcomes Home Wounded Veteran

CessnaWichita, KS - A crowd of several hundred Cessna Aircraft Company employees, family and local American Legion Riders welcomed home to Wichita wounded veteran Private First Class Shawn Williams for Cessna's third Veterans Airlift Command mission. Williams, whose step-father is a Cessna employee, had not spent a holiday season home with his family for more than two years.

Williams was injured in Afghanistan in June 2011 when the Stryker he was driving hit an improvised explosive device. He incurred burns to his hands and face in the explosion.  He was airlifted to Germany, then to Washington and ultimately to San Antonio for treatment at the Brooke Army Medical Center. Williams had pins inserted into his foot and used a wheelchair for mobility until three weeks ago.
