PRO STAR AVIATION, LLC ANNOUNCES WIDE AREA AUGMENTATION SYSTEM (WAAS) LP/LPV MONITOR FOR THE SIKORSKY S-76A
Pro Star Aviation announces it has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) amendment approval to its Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) number SR00287BO, adding the Multi-Mission Management System (MMMS) version of the UNS-1Fw and UNS-1Lw Navigation Computer Units (NCU) allowing S-76A models equipped with a Honeywell SPZ7000 Digital FCS to fly single pilot IFR and approaches up to a 6.5 degree Glide Path Angle (GPA) coupled or uncoupled. Depending on current FMS or GPS equipment installed, the WAAS STC can be installed in a 5-7 day window along with a short verification test flight.
The original STC allows installation of the Universal Avionics Systems Corp (UASC) UNS-1Fw or UNS-1Lw Flight Management System (FMS) with embedded Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) along with a UASC LP/LPV Monitor in the Sikorsky models S-76B and S-76C transport category helicopters.
Additional features include:
•UASC 5” High Resolution Flat Panel Control Display Unit (FPCDU)
•UASC Solid State Data Transfer Unit (SSDTU) for fast and efficient databases updates via USB memory stick or an SD card.
•Minimum decision altitudes as low as 200 feet with ½-mile visibility.
•Ability to fly six distinct patterns: rising ladder, expanding square, racetrack, sector search, orbit and border patrol.
