Innov8 Cabin Solutions Earns STC for FlexCharger USB Charger
Innov8 Cabin Solutions LLC obtains an STC for its CFLEX Charge USB base. PMA-approval is expected in April of this year. Innov8 offers economical upgrades to cabin management and entertainment systems. CabinFLEX Simplicity features affordable products that enable customers to efficiently use their everyday personal electronic devices (PEDs) on their aircraft and replace older monitors with their own PEDs.
“Aging Audio International, Baker, PacSys and C-Series systems are prime opportunities for integrating consumer electronics, smart monitor/device solutions and affordable cabin control products,” says Scott Taylor, Business Development leader at Innov8. “Our CFLEX Simplicity product line allows an operator to affordably incorporate PED entertainment and charging capabilities into their current equipment now and into the future. We’re de-integrating the cabin entertainment from management to enable customers to keep up with ever-changing personal electronics and use them in their aircraft efficiently and without the big upgrade costs associated with current or available integrated systems.”
The CFLEX Charge USB base enables the carrying on and use of Innov8’s CFLEX Arm and its CFLEX Holder for customers’ personal electronic devices. The CFLEX Charge provides multiple, independent, USB smart charging-ports and a docking port for other CabinFLEX products. The CFLEX Arm effortlessly latches into the CFLEX Charge USB base and also offers multiple integrated and independent USB charging ports. CFLEX Simplicity supports the various wireless content sources onto PEDs and makes them easier to enjoy, versus older, obsolete monitors/arms in the aircraft today.
The CFLEX Holder attaches to the CFLEX Arm for docking the customers’ personal electronic devices and offers both integrated and universal holder options to accommodate all major PEDs. The hands-free system enables passengers to stream content, browse the Internet or catch-up on work/email through their tablets while independently charging multiple devices.

The first CFLEX Charge installation was performed by West Star Aviation in the Falcon 900B at its Alton, IL, operation, and additional installations are in work with multiple shipsets sold. To keep customer costs affordable, minimal woodwork is required when replacing existing, side ledge-installed monitors or when choosing to install in a new location.
“West Star performed the first STC project with Innov8 for their CFLEX Charge USB base on a Falcon 900B. The product passed all testing flawlessly, even beyond the required levels. After formal testing completed, we poured other liquids into the unit including soda and coffee. We then emptied the USB charging cavity, and the CFLEX Charge unit immediately charged our personal electronic device at its expected performance levels. In fact, after it had passed FAA burn testing, we powered the unit and it STILL performed normally the first time with no problem. The Innov8 team knows what they are doing when it comes to designing and building their products,” says Jeff Maszkiewicz, director of Engineering/ODA Administrator, West Star Aviation.
