Job SummaryThe Aircraft Mechanic II performsthe full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairsand modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Knowledge & SkillsThorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts. Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
Experience & Education Completion of high school or equivalent and U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. Three (3) or more years aviation maintenance experience within the past (6) years on that mission design series (MDS). Experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components. Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License for mechanics and sheetmetal is preferred. Valid FCC Elements 1 and 3 licenses for electricians and/or FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License is preferred.
