Job SummaryThe Aircraft Mechanic II performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives. Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and use required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics.
Experience & EducationCompletion of high school or equivalent and U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. Three (3) or more years aviation maintenance experience within the past (6) years on that mission design series (MDS). Experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components. Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License for mechanics and sheetmetal is preferred. Valid FCC Elements 1 and 3 licenses for electricians and/or FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License is preferred.
