Responsible for specialized diagnostic and mechanical work in all phases of repair, service and preventive maintenance of aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure air worthiness as well as troubleshooting and repair of more difficult and sophisticated mechanical, electrical and auxiliary aircraft systems. An Aircraft Technician is also required to perform a variety of advanced tasks in repairing andmaintaining component parts of various types of aircraft and aircraft engines in accordance with Federal Aviation Authority regulations and manufacturer's recommendations and is charged with the efficient and orderly operation of the maintenance shop and maintaining the necessary parts and equipment inventory. Work involves determining work methods and procedures, requisitioning needed parts, and keeping records of parts inventory and work completed. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department will be accepting online applications for the position of AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN, from Monday, September 17, 2018 to Sunday, October 21, 2018. Requirements: 

High school diploma or GED. Three years of experience in military or civilian aircraft maintenance and electrical avionics skills in the Bell helicopter models 212, or 412, or similar military helicopters are required. Must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic license. Must possess a Driver license. We prefer experience with medium lift and twin turbine powered helicopters and the General Radio Telephone Operators License are preferred.
