Perform malfunction repairs resulting from troubleshooting and adjusts aircraft egress systems to conform to specifications or modifications in accordance with technical orders and modification instructions. Isolates malfunctions on life support systems using various types of test equipment. Repairs or replaces components as required using the latest technical data. • Performs service tests prior to issue and use, on all items of flight equipment such as; protective helmets, oxygen masks and oxygen hoses, emergency bail-out breathing oxygen cylinders, to assure all components function properly and consistently. Fit and maintains full pressure suits. Operates and calibrates pressure suit test equipment. • Assists in the development of procedures and schedules to maintain egress systems, flight equipment and personal safety items. Issues equipment to aircrew members and maintenance personnel as needed. Must also prepare equipment for and support worldwide deployments.• Inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, modifies packs and adjusts aircrew life sustaining equipment not limited to but including; flight helmets, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, survival kits aircrew night vision devices anti-G garments, high altitude full pressure suits, explosives, ejection seats, canopies, hatches and oxygen systems• Makes and performs operational and functional checks and adjusts affected systems, as required.


Requirements:• Graduate of Aviation Flight Equipment Technical (USAF) or Naval Parachute Rigger #8220;A#8220; School (USN/USMC) - required.• Must have experience on maintaining, servicing, installing and removing NACES and ACES II ejection seats.• Must have a minimum of five (5) years#8217; experience with Aviation Flight Equipment.• Must be an experienced technician familiar and competent with sustainment, repair and fabrication of aviation life support equipment.Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent is required.• Must have in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives. • Must be customer oriented.Licenses and Certifications:• Current civilian driver's license is required and must be maintained throughout employment. • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government flight-line driver's license.• Clearance: A current/active US Secret Security Clearance is required in order to be considered for this position. No expired/archived clearances.Travel: Must be able to work in the established work/living environment to include shifts as assigned, travel as part of a maintenance recovery team and support CONUS and OCONUS deployments Physical Demands: This maintenance classification activity accomplished predominantly in a flight line / hangar environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking demands. May require lifting of objects weighing up to 50lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision and acceptable depth perception.Work Environment: The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.
