TacAir#8217;s mission is to provide domestic and international #8220;Center of Excellence#8221; training and advisory services in tactical aviation, while supporting U.S. interests, and providing meaningful career opportunities for our employees. It is our goal to support and train U.S. forces and partner nations with premium services. The Maintenance Division supports TacAir#8217;s Air Operations#8217; fleet of fighter aircraft with over 75 years of combined experience in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance. The Maintenance staff are a dedicated team comprised of experienced A&P-certified and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians who all work towards ensuring safe and seamless ground maintenance operations. This position is located in Reno, Nevada. With a population of over 400,000, the Reno/Sparks area is a thriving, growing community nestled along the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The ideal candidate for the Aviation Life Support Specialist position will be professional, highly-productive, and responsive to the needs of the company and colleagues. This position will perform organizational, intermediate and limited depot-level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. This position will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other team mates as needed.


The key desirable and preferred requirements for this position include:

  • Qualified PR #8220;A#8221; or Air Force school graduate.
  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Familiarity with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention, and treatment of corrosion.
  • Formal/specialized training; hazardous waste communication; FOD and TCP awareness; support equipment operator license; egress system checkout; non-nuclear ordnance explosive handling certified.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple roles and projects.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to relocate to Reno, Nevada. TacAir will not provide reimbursement for travel or relocation expenses.
