Flight Control Systems Engineer #8211; Arlington, TXResponsibilities:

  • FCS design, requirements definition, and verification and validation testing for system and software requirements in alaboratory or desktop simulation environment
  • Airworthiness verification, and simulation and modeling
  • Perform formal software development through design for requirements and requirements verification in Matlab/Simulink designenvironment.
  • Embedded coder experience preferred.
  • Develop and update requirements and verification traceability
  • Conduct software integration and testing on target hardware
  • Develop and update Low-Level Test (LLT) and High-Level Test (HLT) cases and expected results
  • Perform LLT and HLT execution on desktop environment and target hardware
  • Perform all engineering activities in accordance with the 407 FCS Software Planning Document
  • Supplier coordination activities to support FCS hardware and software integrationEngagement with cross-functional IPTs including avionics, electrical systems, flight technology, and labs as well asprogram customers
  • Support other FCS development tasks as required / directed by the 407 IPT Supervisor
  • Support FAA Stages of Involvement Software Audits

Requirements: 

Tools:

  • MATLAB / Simulink / State flow (Math Works), C/C++, Visio, ENOVIA, Serena / PVCS Dimensions
  • Must have experience in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must work efficiently with minimal oversight, possess strong communication skills and be well organized.
  • Ability to work with test equipment and/or emulators
  • DO-178C Experience

  • (Potential) Development/Trace Tools:Microsoft Visio or Visio Viewer #8211;LLRs may be represented by diagrams/flow charts.
  • Microsoft Excel - LLRs may be detailed in MS Excel spreadsheets. Microsoft Word 2007- LLRs may be represented in MS Word table.
