Structures Mechanic

Description:Assist with the development of production processes for first time production runs.• Modify, repair, assemble, and install components of the rocket• Use tooling holes, pilot holes, or by hand (as required), per drawing or tooling instructions.• Drill, ream, countersink full size holes in parts/assemblies, in proper sequence and to correct size using drill motor.• Set countersinking tools to proper depth as required.• Disassemble parts and deburr holes using chip chasers, deburring tools, and files to prepare for installation of fasteners.• Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast-paced work environment.• Make basic layouts on parts or assemblies in order to establish reference points and to check dimensions.• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and output consistent with the requirements of being a Virgin Orbit team member• Work with and provide input to the development and manufacturing engineers to improve part manufacturability• Trim and drill of composite parts in line with drawing requirements• Bonding and bond prepping of composite materials for structures assembly• Structural bonding with the use of injection methodsSkills:composites, structures, hand lay up, bonding, bond prep, resin mixingTop Skills Details:composites,structures,hand lay up,bondingAdditional Skills & Qualifications:2 years prior experience in composites structuresis required• Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required• Knowledge of composite fabrication methods and techniques including hand lay-up, bond prep, resin mixing, and bondingExperience Level:Entry LevelAbout Aerotek:We know that a companys success starts with its employees.
