TSO Awarded for Latitude’s ATS Safety SATVOICE Solution
Latitude Technologies, a global supplier of flight data management, flight following and satcom solutions for fleet operators, receives Transport Canada CAN-TSO Design Approval AP-106 for the company’s S200-012 ATS Safety Voice System.
The S200-012 is approved to TSO-C159b "Next Generation Satellite Systems (NGSS) equipment" recognized by Transport Canada, FAA and EASA. The S200-012 utilizes the Iridium® satellite network to provide global pole-to-pole coverage and meets the airworthiness fitment guidelines of AC 20-150B for SATVOICE equipment for long-range communication systems (LRCS).
At just 1.7 pounds, the S200-012 interfaces with an aircraft’s communication system and supports dual MCDU interfaces or Latitude’s own low-profile CDU dialer. The latter option is well-suited to legacy aircraft without ARINC-739 MCDUs. Regardless of the user-interface method selected, all ICAO- and FAA-recommended SATVOICE functions, including call priority and ATS/AOC directories, are supported by the S200-012.
Commenting on its latest TSO approval, Latitude president, Mark Insley, notes, “It’s very satisfying to be able to offer long-range flyers with a reliable and weight-saving phone system that works everywhere. Our Safety Voice solution represents a significant increase in value for owners
for both new installs and com system upgrades.”
Latitude has begun taking orders for immediate shipping of the S200-012 to channel partners across the world. The S200-012 is already an accepted option for the new Pilatus PC-24 jet and is also supported by STCs on Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream and Bombardier Challenger Series Aircraft.
