We are highly motivated, hands-on professional for the position of Aeronautical Structures Designer / Liaison. The position is based in Breslau, Ontario, Canada. This position will be responsible for supporting the structural design aspects of aircraft system installations.  Key Responsibilities 

  • 3D Design of structural modifications, including new equipment and antennas installations using SolidWorks.
  • Create Model Based Definition and/or detailed drawings of the structural components.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable specification requirements, and appropriate industry regulations including CAR, FAR or CS.
  • Review existing design and leverage data to refine or optimize the design.
  • Conduct Aircraft surveys to determine the best design solution for modification.
  • Review internal drawings for technical accuracy.
  • Collaborate effectively with production technicians and other technical groups.

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Aeronautical/Aerospace Structural Design Experience of a minimum of five (5) years, preferably in Afterspanet modification, which will be considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in mechanical design practices and aircraft structures.
  • Experience with aircraft structural design and systems architecture.
  • Ability to optimize competing design criteria to achieve optimal performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Aircraft structural design with solid CAD skills (Solidworks, Autodesk AutoCad).
  • Available to travel if required.

 Skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with technical judgement and initiative.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions and collaborate effectively with senior engineers.
  • Strong teamwork skills, contributing as a key member of both the Design Team and the larger Engineering Department.
