Repair and maintain components used for aircraft airframe and powerplant. Inspect aircraft engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, accessories-brakes, valves, pumps, and air-conditioning systems. Maintain records related to maintenance performed on the aircraft. Mechanics may also repair sheet metal or composite surfaces. Mechanics rely on the pilotsrsquo; description of a problem to find and fix faulty equipment.

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Knowledge of computers
  • General knowledge of federal regulations
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints/drawings
  • Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams
  • Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle
  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, aircraft system
  • Perform all airframe, power plant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requirements
  • Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems
  • Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments
  • Complete all required maintenance records
  • Accurately record time worked on work order
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints
  • Tow and park aircraft
  • Perform other aircraft maintenance work as may be required

Reports to:

  • Station Manager

Schedule:

  • 5-day work week / Up to 40 Hours
  • Overtime as needed
  • Weekend availability as needed
  • Have Flexible Hours to include on-call status after normal hours

Requirements: 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Possess a Valid FAA-issued A P License required
  • 1 year of previous line maintenance experience required
  • Experience and/or training on at least 2 aircraft types ndash; A319/A320/A321, A220, B737, and/or E175/190 aircraft desired
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the English Language required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills desired
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical, as well as an FBI criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to:

  • Stand
  • Lie down
  • Kneel
  • Climb stairs, scaffolds, or ladders
  • Frequently lift, pull, and hold objects weighing more than 70 pounds
  • Noise and vibration are common when engines are on, so ear protection is necessary
  • Aircraft maintenance: 1 year minimum (Required)
  • FAA-issued Airframe Powerplant License (Required)

Working Conditions:

  • A P Mechanics usually work outdoors, sometimes in unpleasant weather.
  • Mechanics often work under time pressure to maintain flight schedules to keep from inconveniencing customers.
  • At the same time, mechanics have a tremendous responsibility to maintain safety standards.
