We are seeking experienced Aviation Mechanic Technicians in the Atlanta area who are passionate about training the next generation of industry leaders. If you hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate and have hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, we want you on our team!

FULL TIME SCHEDULE OPTIONS
Applicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:

  • Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 6am - 2:30pm, Friday 6am-12pm OR
  • Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 4:30pm OR
  • Option 3: Friday - Sunday: 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday 7am - 12pm

PART TIME SCHEDULE OPTIONS
Applicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:

  • Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 2:00pm OR
  • Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 5:00pm ndash; 11:00pm OR
  • Option 3: Friday ndash; Sunday: 7:30am ndash; 4:30pm

POSITION PURPOSE
The Aviation Maintenance Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on instruction and ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in aviation. This role involves creating a supportive learning environment, developing curriculum, and mentoring the next generation of certified aircraft technicians.
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis as assigned and create a welcoming environment for students that is conducive to learning.
  • Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab.
  • Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.
  • Submit attendance, grades, student evaluations, and all other reports/documentation to Supervisor or appropriatepersonnel as required by established procedures.
  • Notify Supervisor of any current or potential issues which warrant immediate attention.
  • Utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school to assist students.
  • Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor, based on outcomes of classroomobservations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys.
  • Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.
  • Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit replenishment requests to Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  • Alert Supervisor on student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences.
  • Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements: 

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required.
  • Minimum (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).
  • Must be able to demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and continuing study in their field.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
  • Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educationalsetting.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
