Avionics Technician
Western Aircraft has multiple immediate openings for experienced Avionics Technicians in Boise, Idaho.
Job Summary
The Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and/or performing needed repairs to aircraft systems utilizing test equipment and hand tools to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturer specifications.
Duties Responsibilities
- Learns and assists with routine avionics installations and repairs on general aviation aircraft
- Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of work
- Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
- Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal toolbox
- Meets or beats flat rates for assigned tasks
- Understands and follows safety procedures, and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner to accomplish work
- Responsible for completing training syllabus for advancement to next level
- Performs other duties as directed
- Minimum three (3) years experience in the performance of avionics modifications and installations on corporate / business aircraft or similar airframes.
- Owns basic hand tools to complete work (list will be provided)
- FCC Certification is preferred
- Airframe certification preferred
Other Prerequisites
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to obtain an Airport Issued security badge
Work Environment Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with a moderate noise level.
- The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Must have the ability to climb and bend at the waist, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and work at heights
- Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
