Job Responsibilities: Work from Government instructions and Maintenance Instruction Manuals and Company directives to perform maintenance repair and installation of aircraft life support systems and aircrew personal survival equipment.Transport, install and remove Cartridge Actuated Devices and Propulsion Actuated Devices.Pack, unpack, preserve and maintain parachutes and seat survival kits.Repair, fit, maintain and preserve pilots personal equipmentPerform corrosion control and prevention as required.Issues and receives aircrew survival equipment.Initiate and update checkout/return records.Assemble, place in service, and perform calendar inspections on oxygen mask assemblies, survival vest, helmets, and other related safety/survival equipment.Perform aircraft conditional and special inspections of installed safety/survival equipment.Maintain OOMA for parachute and personal equipment for accountability and inspection due dates.Adjust, maintain, and perform minor repairs on sewing machines.Construct fabric items using a sewing machine and performs hand tacking on fabrics.Remove, install, and repair slide fasteners, grommets, snap fasteners, and Velcro closures on personal survival equipment and other types of fabrics.Orders required survival equipment and supplies.Install and test emergency radios in survival vest.May be required to perform collateral duty inspection or CDQAR functions.Identifies and treats corrosion.Completes applicable maintenance forms.Briefs and debriefs flight personnel on the use and condition of survival equipment.Maintains cleanliness of work center.Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control Programs.Assist as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government/Company Owned equipment.Performs other related duties as required.Deals with the customer in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.


Basic Qualifications:Completion of U.S. Navy Aircrew Survival Equipment man ldquo;Ardquo; school or another military, civilian, or manufacturer schools with equivalent curriculum required. Must possess a mechanical aptitude. Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position. Must be able to obtain the level of security clearance required by the Government.Must have two (2) years experience in aviators personal survival equipment and aircraft installed safety/survival equipment maintenance.Licensing, Certification Requirements:

  • Formal/Specialized Training or Equivalent
  • Hazardous Waste Communication Training
  • FOD and TCP Awareness Trained
  • Security Clearance Awareness Training
  • OPVAV INST 4790.2 Program Awareness
  • ISO 9001-2000 Program Awareness
  • NALCOMIS/OOMA System Trained
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • ESD Trained
  • Support Equipment Operator's License
  • Collateral Duty Inspector (may be required) #
  • Egress System Checkout
  • Non-Nuclear Ordnance Handling
  • Plane Captain (may be required) #
  • Aircraft Towing Certified (may be required)
  • Aircraft Brake Rider Certified (may be required)
  • Operational Risk Management (ORM) Training
  • Fuel Surveillance Trained (may be required) #
