Aircraft Mechanic #8211; High performance Aircraft experience preferred (Specifically L-39 and/or Tucano) Position Description Position available in a busy, clean and well-established Phoenix General Aviation FBO facility for an aircraft mechanic with turbofan, turbo prop and high-performance aircraft experience. Applicants MUST be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident. Responsibilities

  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the company by understanding and complying with Federal Aviation Administration and other legal requirements
  • Detects and diagnoses malfunctions by examining engine anomalies, fuel or oil leaks; listening to operating engine for abnormal sounds, using testing equipment such as borescope, ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, and ammeter
  • Determines feasibility of and method of repair or replacement by studying and interpreting manufacturer's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications
  • Demonstrates knowledge in the use of hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment on wings and fuselage and on functional components, including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units
  • Repairs and replaces worn or damaged engines and system components by disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, warping, or other defects; reassembling, reinstalling, or installing parts; using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems
  • Assess and analyze maintenance processes and provide supervisor with recommendations for improvements and remedial actions
  • Assists supervisor in providing oversight, initiating, conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance within his/her respective area of responsibility to meet required objectives
  • Coordinates with other entities for efficient scheduling of all maintenance activities
  • Ensures proper documentation of aircraft records and logistic requirements
  • Manages day-to-day execution of launch and recovery for assigned aircraft operations
  • Integrate scheduled maintenance requirements into daily flight operations schedule
  • Maintains inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperativeness
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Abilities

  • Prior L-39 and/or Tucano experience highly desired
  • Prior experience with Garrett TPE 331 and/or Ivchenko A1-25TL
  • 5 Years total maintenance experience; prefer prior supervisory and management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and understanding of high-performance aircraft operations #8211; military experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a crew chief with launch and recovery of aircraft #8211; maintaining a daily aircraft turn schedule
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Education Requirements

  • FAA A P or military experience desired

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Multiple job sites in Phoenix area possible (Deer Valley and Goodyear airports)
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions possible
  • Must be able to meet FAA medical minimum standards
