Job purposePlans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections. Shall maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited toflight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Duties and responsibilitiesMaintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairsaircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solvecomplex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints ormanufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensiveknowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair proceduresand replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheetmetal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determinefunctionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge ofaircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators,micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. isrequired. Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support tostructural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellentorganizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft deliveryschedule. Will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and isresponsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower leveltechnicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.Qualifications·Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned thanthe workers they will be inspecting.
