Basic Function Summary:Provides line services in support of scheduled flight operations. These services include inspection, servicing, cleaning, launching, and recovery of aircraft. Will be required to operate self-propelled ground equipment during daily routine. Services are primarily performed outside. Provides daily oversight of all functional and operational activities in maintenance control of aircraft, and assists the Senior Maintenance Manager with daily operations. The maintenance controller assists in the operations of the maintenance departments per the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2B CH-1. Defines and assigns responsibilities by shift, functions, and operations per directives.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Commercial derivative aircraft require AP certification.Experience: Relevant aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, modification, and flight-line operations performance within NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) or CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) equivalent maintenance systems (not required with Trade, AP, FAA Certification).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTHE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING DUTIES. ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY BE IDENTIFIED BY THE ORGANIZATION AND LISTED AS SUCH IN THE INCUMBENTS PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL ELEMENTS. VARIOUS TASKS MAY BE ASSIGNED UNDER EACH ESSENTIAL FUNCTION.

The Mobile Sensors program performs Operations and Maintenance (OM) on a ship based mobile radar/communication systems that are complex, multi-mission systems with elaborate command, control, computer, and communications interfaces and support sub-systems. These systems, and the program assigned employees primarily operate in the Pacific Commands (PACOM) area of responsibility (AOR).
