Wolfe Ave, Bldg 3810, Edwards AFB, CA, 93524 USAFUNCTION:Perform the work necessary to build, test, inspect and instrument a wide variety of gas turbine engines and associated new technologies. Work with engineering to develop tooling, install instrumentation and devise methods to build engines and related component test hardware. Provide related support for engine test programs and associated projects.Mechanics will work directly with FSR/FSE with interpretation of technical data and troubleshooting of engine/module issues and will be available if criteria needs clarification. If a process is added or changed the mechanics preforming the task will communicate directly with the FSR/FSE assigned to the engine/moduleTYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Investigate problems and make repairs or modifications as necessary
  • Perform a variety of related duties in support of engine programs
  • Act as a mentor for other team members or employees training to achieve Engine Mechanic or Sr. Engine Mechanic
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment
  • Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required
  • Perform additional tasks in support of business objectives and/or to develop the individuals skills
  • Handle process related waste in accordance with approved documented work instructions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Work overtime when required
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as required

SAFETY SENSITIVE:For safety sensitive positions, you will be subject to FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention regulations.  The law requires both pre-employment testing for cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, opiates and marijuana use and random testing for these drugs and alcohol misuse.All Employees Shall:

  • Attend scheduled training program
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen, 6S, and QCPC.
  • Develop new skills necessary to support business needs and job satisfaction
  • Utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) required as a result of Process Risk Analysis
