Who are we looking for?Jet Midwest Technik is seeking a Lead Structures Technician who will report directly to the Shop Supervisor, and be directly responsible for the evaluation, repair, and service of aircraft structures and components. The Lead Structures Technician is a working lead role, responsible for hands on work tasks in addition to directing, supporting, and training assigned project teams.Please note that this position is located on Kansas City International Airport property and as such, successful candidates will be subject to a Federal background check, as required for clearance to access our facility. What you should know about the day-to-day:Your essential job duties will include:• Perform inspection, repair, overhaul, maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement and adjustments of various aircraft components and structures in compliance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAR's, under the direction of the Shop Supervisor• Evaluate system and component discrepancies and perform necessary structural work or re-work utilizing required/appropriate tools and diagnostic devices• Provide technical work direction, support, monitoring, and training to assigned project teams• Sheet metal inspection, work, and repair• Composite/paint inspection and repairs• Perform damage mapping and assessment• Follow all safety guidelines for procedures and equipment• Familiar with and utilize all approved and pertinent reference documentation #8211; AMM, SRM, CMM and Engineering Documents• Other duties as assigned


We're a great match for you if you have:• A High School Diploma or equivalent• 5+ years of experience in aircraft structures, sheet metal, and component work (required)• Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with required tools and processes to perform sheet metal and composite inspection, diagnostics, repair, builds from specification, and rework• Working knowledge of FAR's• Working repair knowledge of flight controls, sheet metal structures, composite structures, hydraulic and fuel components, damage mapping, and repair resolution• Demonstrated ability to provide effective hands-on working leadership to less experienced technicians and peers• Basic math and measurement skills• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills• Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components, and other hardware• Ability to use tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language• Ability to work in a Safety Sensitive role as defined by CFR 49 part 40 We're an even better match for you if you also have:• A current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A P) license• Own hand tools• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts or on call as needed, including some nights, holidays, and/or weekends• Completed Gen Fam's for any or all of the following aircraft: 747, 757, 757, 777, A330, A320 Other important information and physical requirements:While performing the essential responsibilities of the Lead Structures Technician, you will be on your feet, or seated on a work stool the majority of the work day, performing tasks which require precise control of tooling using both of your hands and sometimes feet as well as visual acuity. Approximately 15% of your job duties will require the ability to: walk long distances, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The noise level is usually moderate to high, as consistent with shop environment. You will regularly lift, carry, and use tools and other equipment weighing up to 10 pounds for extended periods of time, and will frequently perform tasks requiring you to lift and/or manipulate parts, supplies, weighing up to 50 pounds. Some job duties require the use of a respirator, which you must be able to wear, properly fitted, for extended periods of time.
