Join us as we take flight!Position overviewUTAS Electric Power Systems, Emergency Power Engineering, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for working various engineering duties and will interface directly with assembly and test as well as our internal and external supply base for development and production of aircraft power generation components. The EPE Producibility group supports programs through the entire life cycle of development to production. This is a job that always has a new challenge as UTAS continues to invent the future of aircraft electric power systems. The candidate must be an analytical thinker and be adept at design, build, and manufacturing of aerospace components. The candidate must have experience working with machined components, and structural assemblies. This position will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and will support our EPE product line. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate test plans and formulate requirements for test
  • Design and procure mechanical hardware
  • Analyze requirements of rotating machinery interfaces
  • Incorporate instrumentation into test setups including flows, pressures, load, torque, airspeed, vibration, and temperature
  • Supervise build, checkout, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems with the hourly workforce
  • Create drawings, presentations, and papers to document designs
  • Requirements: 

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor #39;s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
