Lockheed Martin (LM) is lookingfor a hardworking, experienced, MechanicalEngineer to become a member of theConventional Prompt Strike Engineering Team.As a Mechanical Engineer/Thermal ProtectionSystem (TPS) Lead in the Structures andPropulsion organization your duties will includeresponsibility for the design, procurement, testand application of TPS material on missilestructure and propulsion components. This jobrequires coordinating with customers, suppliers,manufacturing facilities, test facilities, and otherrelated disciplines including, subcontracts,quality, flight sciences, and systems engineering.Other duties may include:• Assist on the conceptual development,requirements definition, and design of the TPSsystem• Perform trade studies to select appropriate TPS design solutions• Develop product TPS performancespecifications, statements of work, and supplierdata requirements• Create and maintain engineering drawings,specifications, and technical analyses related tothe TPS application on structure and propulsioncomponents• Provide requirements flow-down, verification,and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers• Evaluate, select, and then manage thetechnical aspects of the procurement from theselected TPS supplier• Support Subsystem Integration, and subsystemtest and operations on an as-needed basis• Occasional travel when required

Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or relatedEngineering field or equivalent professionalexperience, typically with 9 years of professionalexperience; or 7 years of professional experiencerequired with a related Master's Degree• Understanding of Mechanical ThermalEngineering fundamentals• Familiarity with GDT• Proficient in Microsoft Suite• Knowledge of other disciplines (i.e. - stress,dynamics, thermal analysis, production, ATLO,electronics)• US citizen with ability to obtain a DoD secretclearanceDesired Skills:• Experience the thermal structural analysis andthermal environment test techniques• Proven desire and ability to own technicalchallenges through solution• Experience with TPS performance assessment,including thermal decomposition and ablationanalysis• Familiarity with TPS application processes• Demonstrated high proficiency with CreoParametric, Creo View (or equivalent), EPDM(PTC Windchill), and configuration controlprocesses• Hands on Hardware experience• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamingwith internal and external customers• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectivelywith adjacent disciplines (systems engineering,electronics, stress/thermal analysis,configuration management, production, test,quality…)• Demonstrated ability to manage multipleassignments and customers, simultaneously andindependently• Ability to work independently with minimalsupervision• Fast learner with good problem-solving abilities• Flight Hardware Design experience• Proficiency in industry standard CAD (Creo,Catia, AutoCad) software• Knowledge of manufacturing processes anddocumentation, including SAP, Q-notes, testprocedures, etc.• Knowledge of other disciplines (i.e. - stress,dynamics, thermal analysis, production, ATLO,electronics)• Familiarity/proficiency in supply chainmanagement and subcontracts• Experience with requirement definition,documentation and verification• Ability to work in a reciprocal and team-basedenvironment• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonalskills with technical and non-technical audiences

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.This position is incentive plan eligibleAbility to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday offSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: Secret
