NDT Level II Technician

Jet East is currently looking for an NDT Level II Technician. This Technician will report to the Director of NDT and will be responsible and available to the Jet East customers for 24/7 technical support and troubleshoot issues even if the customer is away from our facilities. This position requires the technician to display a professional demeanor and project this atmosphere to our customers while working in familiar and unfamiliar locations. This challenging position is key to providing our customers with the same exceptional service they are accustomed to wherever their aircraft may be while working with minimal supervision. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain certifications (RT, MT, ET, PT and UT Level II) and perform these methods on any articles
  • Professionally deal with customers vendors
  • Responsible for the care of NDT equipment and tooling while performing tasks
  • Assist with the organization and housekeeping of NDT department, offices, shops, vehicles, and tools and equipment and work away locations
  • Ensure work is properly documented and turned over in case of shift change or reassignment
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with the applicable technical data, Jet East manuals
  • Assist the Director of NDT in adding new techniques and ratings to the operational specs as the NDT department grows
  • Responsible for keeping track of all personal OJT and technical training Accurately record time worked for the NDT department
  • Must follow all proper safety procedures
  • Ensures job or task are completed on schedule for the NDT department
  • Communicates/Updates to the appropriate person on job details (example: Customer, Manager, and Director of NDT
  • Ensure work packages and maintenance records are completed correctly
  • Interpret, evaluate, and report on NDT test results
  • Become familiar and understand Jet East repair station manuals and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position must hold an NDT Certificate and have experience providing maintenance on the Cessna Citation Series. Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be willing to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) using fall protection safety gear
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs or more
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and ground equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces

Non-Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and use technical manuals
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively
  • Ability to communicate both in writing and orally in clear and
  • understandable manner with co-workers, customers and Jet East leadership
  • Must be able to perform repairs effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers
  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
