Overview of the Role: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their general aviation maintenance team. In this crucial role, you will oversee the quality control and inspection processes, ensuring all aircraft maintenance, repairs, and overhauls adhere to FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of aviation maintenance practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team of technicians to uphold the highest levels of safety and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Final Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of all aircraft maintenance and repair work to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.
  • Manage Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair activities meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate and detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance conducted, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise the Team: Guide and oversee maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to proper inspection procedures and safety protocols.
  • Develop Quality Audits: Implement and maintain a quality control system, conducting internal audits and inspections of aircraft, facilities, and procedures.
  • Improve Processes: Evaluate current inspection and maintenance practices, recommending and implementing enhancements to boost efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Bodies: Work with FAA representatives and other regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and certifications.
  • Manage Tool Calibration: Ensure that all maintenance tools and equipment are properly calibrated and functioning according to specifications.
  • Enforce Safety Compliance: Serve as a key figure in enforcing safety regulations and practices within the maintenance shop.
  • Communicate with Customers: Collaborate closely with customers and the Service Manager to address any quality concerns or inquiries regarding maintenance work.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in aircraft maintenance, with at least 2 years in an inspection or quality control role within a general aviation setting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in aircraft maintenance.
  • Licensing: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (AP) License and Inspection Authorization (IA) are required.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of FAA regulations, aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Effective communication skills for coordination with technicians, management, regulatory authorities, and customers.
  • Technical Competence: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Physical Ability: Capability to work in varied conditions, including prolonged standing, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools for documenting inspections and managing records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital record-keeping systems and FAA audit processes.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
