Sheet Metal Mechanic
Sheet Metal Mechanics assembles helicopters and its sub-assemblies using a variety of tools in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA
- Ability to assemble helicopters and its sub-assemblies with pneumatic tools, hand tools, drill presses, sheet metal rollers, stationary foot shears, and band saws
- Familiarity and competency with measuring tools such as torque wrenches, scales, and calipers used in the manufacturing process to meet blueprint
- Perform trimming , forming, aligning, mating, fitting, and straightening on sheet metal and fiberglass.
- Basic knowledge of precision drilling, and installation of rivets and fasteners
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, drawings, and geometric tolerances
- Basic mathematic skills include but are not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication
- Must be capable of using calipers and basic measuring tools
