  • Contributes to aircraft safety by maintaining high standards of aeronautical workmanship and inspection standards.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs inspection of maintenance performed by another qualified technician or approved contractor or vendor.
  • Keeps own work areas clean. Returns all equipment and tools checked out at end of work shift and repositions in assigned area.
  • Reports all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Lead Inspector.
  • Assembles, reviews and completes work orders and other required documentation for inspections and maintenance performed.
  • Assures hangar workshops and other assigned areas are maintained in an orderly manner.
  • Possesses an adequate tool kit and ensures any personal tools that require calibration remain current and shall provide such documentation to the Lead Inspector.
  • Ascertain that final inspections are properly performed on all work completed before it is released for RTS and inspection records, reports and forms used by the department are properly executed.
  • Assure that no defective, unairworthy or non-conforming parts are installed in any components or assemblies released by the department
  • Maintain inspection continuity when conducting preliminary inspections, in-process inspections, hidden damage inspections and final inspections of all items processed by the department
  • Assure the final acceptance of all incoming material including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside of the department
  • Ensure compliance with all RII and In-Process inspections
  • Assure proper tagging and identification of all parts in accordance with the GMM and the Repair Station manuals
  • Assure that rejected and unserviceable parts after proper marking are returned to the owner or with the owner#8217;s permission, are quarantined, mutilated and properly disposed of
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements: 

Education and/or Experience

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Part 145 and 135 environments preferred.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of maintenance tracking, work order management, spreadsheet and word processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Airframe and Powerplant license required. Inspection Authorization is preferred.

Other Qualifications

  • Travel 25% of the time is required.
  • An ability to obtain a Dallas Love Field security badge is required
