Aircraft Assembly MechanicJob DescriptionAs an Assembler, you will be performing routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations. You will select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, hardware, etc., shim, install, fit, fasten, align, adjust and carry out the necessary pre-installation assembly work to accomplish the installation of structural components. This role requires the use of production and engineering prints to determine exact locations. You will report job constraints such as errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., in accordance with company procedures. You will also perform any repairs, rework, functional checks and the incorporation of authorized changes, etc., as outlined by the Lead.Hard Skills

  • Ability to select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, hardware
  • Ability to shim, install, fit, fasten, align, adjust
  • Ability to perform the necessary pre-installation assembly work
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions and instructions
  • Knowledge of basic computer systems and programs

Job TypeThis is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in NORTH CHARLESTON, SC.Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves working in large teams and requires flexibility with shifts. Candidates must be open to working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts as needed. The role involves occasional lifting of 21-35 pounds, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, crawling, crouching, standing for long periods, kneeling, reaching, climbing/balancing, flexion/extension. Exposure to sealants and solvents, noise, and working on elevated platforms is part of the job. Use of personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms is required.Pay Rate is anywhere from $25-40/hr, depending on experience and if you are relocating or not. Apply today!
