The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs maintain aircraft, aircraft engines, and aircraft components and avionics systems according to Delta and FAA specifications; perform inspections during assembly of parts and after repair or installation of components; document maintenance procedures including component damage, origin, and condition; and practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

  • Implementing and adhering to strict safety guidelines.
  • Promote safety within the workplace by monitoring others and yourself to guarantee all tasks are performed within the safety manual guidelines, and communicate with other mechanics and supervisors to coordinate repairs and keep apprised of safety concerns.
  • Ensure 100 compliance with US FAA directives, Delta Air Lines Company and Safety Standards.
  • Using hand tools, diagnostic tests, and gauges to identify hydraulic, electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Read and utilize maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments.
  • Perform routine maintenance operations, such as the replacement of power plant and aircraft components.
  • Complete all tasks in the allotted time frame and to the quality standards of Delta Air Lines.
  • Work in team with other AMTs and Supervisors as well as other departments.
  • Coordinate and plan daily work load requirement.
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance staff to ensure smooth maintenance operations.
  • Report Maintenance Supervisors with aircraft maintenance work progress.
  • Other duties as directed by immediate supervisors and higher management.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable procedures and methods relating to aircraft maintenance/inspection and TechOps.
  • Ensure adequate inspection is performed on parts, components or assemblies.
  • Visual Check of the area for completeness of work, obvious defects, safety of components, cleanliness, removal of equipment, tools, debris, etc -
  • Document work performed including status of “work in progress” at the end of the shift.
  • Sign for Return to Service or Airworthiness Release per the applicable manuals.
  • Perform appropriate computer functions and provide documentation to ensure that maintenance records, parts tracking and costs may be accurately recorded.
  • Adhere to all Company appearance and conduct standards.
  • Take care of the facilities and keep the workplace organized
  • Make repairs on GSE equipment if necessary.
  • Be open to comply with secondary operational tasks as housekeeping, stores organization, tooling organization, facilities daily inspections, etc.
  • Ensure adequate inspection is performed on parts, components or assemblies.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • FAA Airframe and Power plant (A P) maintenance license.
  • 2-5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Must have work authorization to work in Brazil
  • Command of written/spoken English at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Fluency in local language is required.
  • Should possess the basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Be physically able to perform all maintenance duties with no limitations.
  • Be able and willing to work different shifts.
  • Problem solving ability is required.
  • Holding a valid local driving license (Category D preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have an American Visa and be ready to travel to international destinations when required.
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking, and styles.
  • High School graduate, GED or High School Equivalency.
