  • Troubleshoot and repair complex avionics systems without relying solely on manuals, using independent judgment and advanced circuit analysis.
  • Perform detailed waveform calculations, signal tracing, and circuit diagnostics using tools such as high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer-controlled test equipment.
  • Execute bench and flight line testing, operational checkouts, and modification of avionics components in accordance with DoD, OEM, and company procedures.
  • Install, test, and modify wire bundles and aircraft systems during development or retrofit projects.
  • Interpret technical documents including blueprints, wire diagrams, charts, and verbal/electronic instructions to complete assigned work.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly malfunctions using appropriate precision measurement instruments.
  • Maintain proper use and storage of tools, hazardous materials, and ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Support team-based maintenance activities, assist with training of junior technicians, and may lead complex task teams.
  • Work collaboratively across avionics, structures, and general mechanics to meet cost and schedule targets.
  • Comply with all safety and operational standards during hazardous energy work, confined space entry, and elevated platform tasks.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits related to the role.
  • Perform duties of lower avionics classifications as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
    • 8+ years of experience with avionics systems and aircraft computer systems.
    • Experience working with F-15 or other fighter aircraft platforms.
  • Skills Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in avionics systems: Comm/Nav, Data Links, Radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Weapons Systems.
    • Experience with EPAWSS modification and COMSEC/Radar/EW systems is preferred.
    • Familiar with basic office software for documentation and reporting.
