Job Title: Aircraft Structural TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking an Aircraft Structural Technician to join our team and contribute to an aircraft conversion program, primarily focusing on the Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting. This role involves basic structural work, including repairing and maintaining structural tears and cracks, corrosion repair, riveting, and component overhaul. The position requires flexibility to work in different divisions and facilities, with the majority of the work centered on Q400 modifications.Responsibilities

  • Perform structural repairs and maintenance on Q400 aircraft, addressing tears, cracks, and corrosion issues.
  • Execute riveting and component overhaul tasks.
  • Work on assembly lines, assembling tanks, and engaging in repetitive work as needed.
  • Participate in airframe major modifications, tank installations, and provisions for fairings.
  • Remove interiors and perform weight reduction tasks.
  • Execute wing modifications within the conversion department.
  • Collaborate within a team environment, reporting to supervisors as required.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structural work.
  • Experience with Q400 aircraft and modifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM drawings, Service Bulletins, and EOs.
  • 2-3 years of MRO experience.
  • Possess basic tools necessary for the job.

Additional Skills Qualifications

  • Experience with Dash 8 Q400, 737, Turbo Props, or helicopters is advantageous.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.

Bring basic tooling with you to support your work. The team consists of 13 individuals, with opportunities for long-term engagement. The position typically involves 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. Shifts start at 6:00 am and end at 4:15 pm, with potential adjustments to 8-hour days as needed.Job Type LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, British Columbia.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52.50 - $58.00/hr.Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Abbotsford,BC.
