Job Title: Aircraft TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Aircraft Technician is responsible for accurately repairing and performing scheduled maintenance on Cessna Citation Jets and some Gulfstream Aircraft, as well as conducting inspections as required by the FAA. The role involves performing typical line and scheduled maintenance duties such as RII items and 100-hour inspections, alongside related inspection items.Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance on aircraft.
  • Train and lead other employees in proper work techniques.
  • Manage projects by accurately estimating work time and materials for scheduled jobs.
  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, work orders, and sketches to troubleshoot, repair, and install desired products or parts.
  • Ensure the proper working condition of mechanical systems before flight.
  • Develop and maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and any reports related to parts or services.
  • Inspect engines, wings, propellers, tails, and other parts to identify cracks, corrosion, or defects.
  • Inspect hoses and lubricate joints; replace any that show signs of needing repair.
  • Consult maintenance manuals and specifications to identify correct operations and specifications for replacements or repairs.
  • Install new parts to replace or repair defective or recalled parts or to enhance the performance of the aircraft.
  • Repair sheet metal as needed.
  • Ensure the proper function of engines and operating systems via a variety of tests and tools.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from the pilot or crew.
  • Collaborate with airframe and power plant (A&P) mechanics or other appropriate personnel to repair engines and non-instrumental parts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Must possess an FAA Airframe License.
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to manual instructions to resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain records.
  • Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination.
  • Superior and careful workmanship.
  • Leadership and team-oriented.
  • Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs.
  • Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
  • Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of transport-category jet aircraft-related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform all job tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have tools and tool box.
  • Preferred experience with Corridor and Business Corporate Jets.
  • Experience with Cessna Citation or Gulfstream is ideal, but any corporate aircraft experience is acceptable.
  • Licensed A&P Mechanics with experience in other areas will also be considered.

The environment is dynamic with new constructions underway, providing modern facilities for aircraft maintenance.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kinston, North Carolina.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $50.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
