As an A P Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircrafts. Youll perform the necessary checks in regards to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts. Youll use a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work, all while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop. You will demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or Airframe Power plant (A P) components.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems.   • High school diploma or GED equivalent and at typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Experience using tooling and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts
  • A detailed knowledge of aircraft specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required 
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
  • Must have own tools in good working order
    • Tools will need to be shadowed and inventoried in toolbox
  • Must be able to pass an occupational physical that includes a hearing and vision test
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Experience on wide body aircraft including, but not limited to, Boeing 767, 777 and 747
  • Proficient in basic computer operation
