About the Opportunity: Join our client, a leading company in the aviation industry, as an A P Mechanic - Paint Operations Composite Repairs. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend traditional A P responsibilities with specialized composite repair and refinishing tasks. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring aircraft meet FAA and company quality standards before returning to service. This position is perfect for candidates seeking to impact aircraft maintenance and safety while expanding their expertise in paint operations and composite work. Responsibilities:

    • Execute airframe maintenance and structural repairs on aircraft slated for paint and refinishing.
    • Inspect, repair, and fabricate composite components such as radomes, fairings, and flight-control surfaces.
    • Efficiently remove, prep, and reinstall flight controls and panels to assist paint operations.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of finished paintwork, confirming surface quality and color accuracy to authorize aircraft service.
    • Coordinate with paint technicians to ensure protective masking complies with engineering specifications.
    • Implement corrosion-prevention measures and sealants before paint application.
    • Accurately document maintenance and inspections in compliance with FAA, company, and customer requirements.
    • Maintain shop tooling and repair supplies in pristine, calibrated condition.
    • Comply with all safety protocols and PPE requirements, adhering to hazardous material handling procedures.

Requirements:

    • FAA Airframe Powerplant (A P) Certificate is essential.
    • A preferred qualification as a Designated Inspector for final paint acceptance.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, focusing on structural and composite repairs.
    • Preferred experience in an aircraft painting or refinishing environment.
    • Proficient understanding of composite lay-up, vacuum bagging, resin systems, and curing processes.
    • Demonstrated skill in performing and documenting final aircraft paint inspections.
    • Authorized to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
    • Classified as a Safety-Sensitive role, subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing per FAA regulations.
