AMAC Aerospace Delivers First Completed Boeing BBJ 777-200LR

Basel, Switzerland - AMAC Aerospace has delivered the first BBJ 777-200LR (long range) ever to be completed for a private customer in the Middle East. The aircraft was brought to AMAC by Aviation Link, Saudi Arabia, who took delivery of the completed aircraft from AMAC’s facility in Basel following the conclusion of 19 months’ completion work, involving more than a combined 500,000 man hours.

This aircraft features various spaces including private hallway, master bedroom, master lavatory, private lounges, majlis, cabanas, guest areas, staff areas and various galleys throughout the cabin. In-flight entertainment includes audio video on demand (AVOD), monitors up to 64 inches in size, Blu Ray players, live TV, Star lighting, RGB mood lighting, external camera systems, humidification system, SATCOM telephone system, and mobile phone usage via VoIP and Wi-Fi throughout the cabin.

“The Principal set very high standards for this elegant interior,” said Bernd Schramm, AMAC group chief operating officer. “We are extremely pleased we were able to meet the demanding and challenging requirements specified.”

Schramm highlighted that AMAC’s strong relationship and regular open communication with Boeing were key in facilitating the on-time completion. “AMAC is proud that again we were able to re-deliver our first widebody completion project in time and on budget to the highest satisfaction of our customer,” he said.
In May this year, coinciding with the EBACE Show in Geneva,AMAC was approved by Boeing as a Boeing warranty service center. The partnership with the OEM continued as AMAC began completion of a BBJ 747-8 at the end of October.

Further complementing its widebody completions expertise on Boeing and Airbus aircraft, AMAC has now achieved European EASA Part 145 approval to undertake heavy base maintenance on Boeing 777 series, B747-400, B747-8i and Airbus A330/A340 series. Base and line maintenance services on these types can now be provided to all AMAC customers, with no restrictions.
