BRAKE CONTAINER

BTA offers the J.E.T. brake container which combines a reusable shipping container with a safety-enhancing brake-change tool. Aircraft brakes are transported in an upright position, ready to slide onto the axle. At the start of a brake change, the mechanic removes the lid of the shipping case, and hoists it up to capture and remove the worn brake. The mechanic then hoists the other half of the shipping container (holding the serviceable brake) right up to axle, and slides the brake on, eliminating manual handling of heavy aircraft brakes. Brakes do not have to be removed from the container prior to installation on the aircraft. Instead, each half of the shipping case is used to effect the brake removal, and subsequent installation. J.E.T. brake containers are designed to work with existing wheel-change dollies.
