Business Jet Center Adds Large Hangar at OAK

Oakland, CA - FBO provider Business Jet Center (BJC) has added a large hangar in the Bay Area to its Oakland International Airport (OAK) leasehold. The 61,505-square-foot structure, which previously served as a cargo handling facility, is undergoing a $5 million renovation and will bring BJC's total designated business and general aviation hangar space at OAK to more than 155,000 square feet. The hangar features 28-foot-tall doors which can accommodate multiple large aircraft, including the Gulfstream 650.

In addition, BJC recently completed a $250,000 renovation of a 14,500-square-foot business aviation hangar at OAK including new hangar floor coating, office upgrades and new executive kitchen facilities.

“Demand for hangar space at our facility continues to outpace capacity,” says David Mills, general manager of BJC at OAK. “In developing our master plan, we wanted to increase our available square footage to not only meet our present customers’ needs, but also be in position to accommodate future requests.”

Mills said BJC has been able to expand its base customer operation at OAK because of the facility's excellent location, good weather and competitive pricing.
