CAE Announces Second Brazil Pilot and Aviation Maintenance Technician Training Center

Orlando, FL - CAE announces that it has begun construction of a second training center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to provide additional training capacity for airline pilots and aviation maintenance technicians in Latin America. The facility will be near the Sao Paulo/Congonhas downtown airport and will be ready for training in 2012.

CAE currently offers training services at 35 locations worldwide for operators of commercial aircraft, business aircraft and civil helicopters. An additional nine previously-announced training locations, including Congonhas, are in development.

CAE also announced that TAM Airlines, Brazil's largest airline, will be the anchor customer for the new training center. The new Congonhas facility is close to the airline headquarters.

"TAM and CAE have a longstanding business relationship in training aviation professionals to support the airline's growing demand," said Ruy Amparo, vice president of operations and maintenance TAM Airlines."This new training resource is very close to our base of operations and will help our pilots and technicians to develop and sustain their skills in an efficient manner."

"This project leverages the end-to-end expertise of CAE in training facilities design, advanced flight simulator development, and training center management," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president for civil simulation products, training and services."TAM has been training with CAE for more than 10 years, and we are pleased to deliver this customized solution to meet the expansion of their national and international networks, as well as the needs of other operators in the region."

The new CAE Congonhas facility will include six simulator bays and will initially offer training for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG aircraft. CAE will install a full-flight simulator (FFS) for each aircraft. The current CAE Sao Paulo center at Sao Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport recently completed a four-bay expansion to increase capacity to 10 bays and offers training for A320, A330, A340, Boeing 737NG and Boeing 777 aircraft.
