Constant Aviation Announces First Ever STC for In-flight Internet for the EMB135LR

Constant Aviation, LLC, a maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility headquartered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, announces the completion of the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Aircell’s® Cabin Wireless Access Point (CWAP), which provides in-cabin Wi-Fi service for Gogo Biz™ Inflight Internet for Embraer EMB135LR aircraft.

To date, Constant Aviation has completed the Gogo Biz™ Inflight Internet STC on the Gulfstream IV, the Embraer 600 and the EMB135 Corporate Shuttle. Constant has five additional STC’s on the Citation X, Beechjet 400A, Hawker 800A/XP/850XP/900XP, Phenom 300, and 737 Business Jet in the final stages of approval with the FAA and has installed the system on over forty (40) aircraft.

“It is important for us to be able to offer our customers the upgrades and modifications they are interested in. For the last year, that has been In-flight Internet. This cabin amenity will become standard on new aircraft deliveries going forward but I am excited that Constant Aviation is able to provide this upgrade to current aircraft operators. With the majority of our pending STC’s in the final stages of approval with the FAA, we will continue to evaluate future STC projects to support our customers’ growing needs,” says Stephen Maiden, President Constant Aviation.

Gogo Biz™ is an affordable solution in business aviation that provides a true high-speed Internet experience that equals what passengers are accustomed to on the ground. It is up to 56 times faster than a traditional dial-up connection, yet it is small and light enough to fit on virtually any business aircraft. An ATG 5000 unit that provides Gogo Biz service for business aviation weighs just 11 pounds and its two belly-mounted antennas weigh just 1.25 pounds each. This new system is in high demand from business aviation operators and aircraft owners.

Constant Aviation, LLC has locations at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Birmingham International Airport. Both facilities specialize in airframe maintenance, engine repair maintenance, major repairs, avionics, interior refurbishment and modification, parts distribution, accessory and composite services.
