Constant Aviation Completes Citation X Winglet Modification
Cleveland - Constant Aviation, an MRO facility headquartered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, announces the completion of its fifth winglet modification on the Citation X.
“We made a commitment to make the Citation X one of our niche aircraft,” says Stephen Maiden, president of Constant Aviation."The commitment required a significant investment in talent, training, tooling, and experience allowing Constant to become Citation X experts. Within the first seven months of 2012, we have completed over 60 maintenance events, averaging eight inspections a month, specifically on the Citation X. The expertise we have on this airframe has allowed our customers to save an average of 30 percent on scheduled maintenance when compared to the manufacturer."
The addition of winglets to the Citation X allows the aircraft to climb directly to 34,000 feet in 29 minutes as compared to a 93-minute step climb without the winglets, which increases the range by 160 nautical miles. The aircraft performance out of high/hot airports also improves with the added lift the winglets provide. The winglet-equipped Citation X is able to depart from high/hot airports with 1,200 additional pounds of payload or depart with the standard payload with an additional 400 nautical miles in range.
