Eastman Aviation Solutions Strengthens Commitment to Responsible Care Initiative Through New Collaboration with RSC Bio Solutions

As news of new EPA regulations face the aviation industry, Eastman Aviation Solutions is striving to strengthen its commitment to the Responsible Care® initiative and provide additional support to customers by announcing a collaboration with RSC Bio Solutions, a manufacturer of high-performance chemical products for automotive, hardware and industrial applications. Together, the two companies will focus on offering products and services to promote safety, responsibility and sustainability for their aviation partners.

Responsible Care® is the chemical industry’s unique global initiative that drives continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance. An active participant in Responsible Care® for nearly 30 years, Eastman remains committed to protecting the environment as well as the health and safety of its employees, communities, and people who handle their products around the world.

At the forefront of that commitment is Eastman’s SkyKleen® product, a new generation aviation solvent that combines excellent cleaning performance with environmentally friendly characteristics. With a BAC specification of BAC 5750, SkyKleen® is an effective and economical option for a variety of applications such as parts cleaning and surface preparation.

“Ensuring that our airline partners maintain safe operations by continually promoting safety, responsibility and sustainability during any cleaning process is a top priority for Eastman,” says Matt Stockum, Eastman Aviation Solutions business manager. “Whether a customer is working on an aircraft or managing a spill on the ground, we want to make sure they do so in the safest way possible.”

Eastman also helps other suppliers to the aviation industry deliver high-performing, safer products through its wide offering of specialty raw materials and additives.

RSC Bio Solutions has worked with Eastman to create its CSR-4000 cleaner, which contains Eastman Omnia™ high-performance solvent. Omnia has a unique chemistry that offers an exceptional combination of performance, safety and value to a variety of light- and heavy-duty cleaners.

In addition, RSC Bio Solutions offers specific absorbent products, marketed under the GreenSorb® and the GreenSorb Caddy brands. These products are specialized for the management of aviation spills on the ground and when used together, customers have a complete cleaning solution with GreenSorb® and CSR-4000 cleaner on the ground and Eastman SlyKleen® on the aircraft.

“Partnering with RSC Bio Solutions guarantees that our customers have the best combination of resources available and can benefit fully from environmentally friendly cleaning solutions on or off the aircraft,” concludes Stockum.

The recently announced collaboration with RSC Bio Solutions ensures customers are able to operate as responsible citizens in a safe and sustainable manner while furthering the sustainability and environmentally conscious goals that Eastman Aviation Solutions is working to achieve.

Eastman Aviation Solutions is committed to being a partner to its customers and offering comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of the industry. Eastman Turbo Oils, Skydrol® and SkyKleen® offer airlines a suite of fluids for proven performance operations.
