FlightSafety International Names Four Key Executives as Senior Vice Presidents

La Guardia Airport, N.Y. - FlightSafety International announces that it has elevated Tom Eff to senior vice president, general counsel  and secretary; Scott Fera to senior vice president, marketing; Greg McGowan to senior vice president, operations; and Ken Motschwiller to senior vice president and CFO.

Eff joined FlightSafety in 1995 as general counsel and was promoted to vice president, general counsel and secretary in 1998. Prior to joining FlightSafety, he served as vice president and associate general counsel of the Continental Corporation where he was responsible for the corporate legal work and managed the corporate legal department of the company. Prior to that position, he was a corporate law associate with the New York City office of Debevoise & Plimpton. Eff received his juris doctorate with honors from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa. Eff is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Fera has served FlightSafety’s Customers in sales and marketing since joining the company in 1979. He has held a number of positions since then, including regional marketing manager, regional marketing director, national sales manager, managing director of worldwide sales, vice president of sales and most recently vice president of marketing. Fera graduated with a master of science degree in management and a minor in marketing from the University of New Haven. He is a licensed pilot and member of the National Business Aviation Association’s Associate Member Advisory Council.

McGowan began his career with FlightSafety in 1979 as an instructor at the company’s Bell Helicopter Learning Center and was promoted to director of training in 1981. He then served as manager of the West Palm Beach Center; director of operations, responsible for all FlightSafety Learning Centers; and most recently as vice president of operations. McGowan was a pilot and held the rank of captain in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining FlightSafety. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree in forestry and a master of science degree in technological systems management from the University of Southern California.

Motschwiller has worked in FlightSafety’s finance department since joining the company in 1983 as comptroller. He has contributed to all areas of the company throughout his career and has served as vice president, treasurer; vice president, finance; and most recently as vice president and CFO. Motschwiller was a manager at Price Waterhouse before joining FlightSafety. He holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Lehigh University, and is a certified public accountant.
