FlightSafety names Sikorsky Helitech Approved Maintenance Training Center in Australia

LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York – FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Sikorsky Helitech, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services company based in Brisbane, Australia, has become a FlightSafety approved Maintenance Training Center. Sikorsky Helitech will offer training for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines in Australasia.

“We are pleased that Sikorsky Helitech has become an approved provider of FlightSafety’s comprehensive, high quality maintenance training courses,” said Mike Lee, Director, Business Development Maintenance Training.

Technicians who maintain and support Pratt & Whitney Canada engines in Australasia will benefit from FlightSafety’s in-depth classroom and hands-on practical technology-based training curriculum that Sikorsky Helitech will provide for the full range of Pratt & Whitney Canada engines.

FlightSafety will provide Sikorsky Helitech with training courseware, a graphical flight simulator plus a wide range of training aids. Sikorsky Helitech instructors will be FlightSafety trained and qualified and will begin with an initial offering of 16 courses per year for maintenance training on four different P&WC engine types.

FlightSafety provides training for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6B, PT6C, PT6T and PW206/207 series engines. Courses for the 1,000 shaft horsepower new PW210 series of engines will be available beginning in the fourth quarter of 2011. \

Pratt & Whitney Canada maintenance training programs offered by FlightSafety meet or exceed international regulatory standards and are approved under FAA FAR 147, EASA, CASA and Transport Canada. The Training is currently available in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Wichita, Kansas; West Palm Beach, Florida; Montreal, Canada; Toronto, Canada; Paris-Le Bourget, France, and Singapore. Additional Centers that will be offering training in the near future are Curitiba, Brazil; Johannesburg, South Africa; Brisbane, Australia; and Beijing, China.
