FLIGHTSAFETY PROMOTES JOHN BRASFIELD TO MANAGER OF THE CESSNA MAINTENANCE LEARNING CENTER

FlightSafety International announces that John Brasfield has been promoted to manager of the company’s Cessna Aircraft Maintenance Learning Center in Wichita, KS.

 “John’s experience with FlightSafety along with his management, technical and communications abilities, made him the ideal choice to manage our Cessna Maintenance Learning Center,” says Greg McGowan, vice president of operations.

He has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility since joining FlightSafety in 1999 at its Hawker Beechcraft Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas. John joined as an instructor, served as Program Manager for training on the Beechjet, Hawker 800XP, and Hawker Horizon and then as Director of Programs. He most recently served as Assistant Manager of the Wichita Cessna Learning Center.

John is an experienced fixed and rotary wing aircraft pilot and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA and a Master of Business Administration from Southwestern College in Wichita, Kansas. He has been in the United States Army for nearly 25 years and a member of the Reserve since 1999. He currently serves as Force Manager for the USAR Legal Command and was previously assigned as a Legal Assistant, Reconnaissance Squad Leader, Maintenance Officer and a Financial Management Officer prior to joining FlightSafety.

FlightSafety has been the factory authorized training organization for Cessna Aircraft Company for over 30 years. FlightSafety offers training for operators and Cessna aircraft at its Learning Centers in the United States and Europe using a fleet of 54 FlightSafety designed and manufactured full flight simulators and other advanced technology training devices.

FlightSafety’s new Cessna Maintenance Training Center in Wichita, Kansas is scheduled to open this summer. The new purpose-built 65,000 square foot facility will feature advanced technology equipped classrooms, hands-on aircraft component training areas including a hangar that can accommodate up to six Cessna aircraft. A ramp leading from the runway to the new Center will provide direct access to aircraft for training purposes. The MX Advantage maintenance training program, developed in conjunction with Cessna, will compliment and reinforce training received in the classroom by providing hands-on training on Citation aircraft and advanced training devices.
