Jet Aviation Singapore triples maintenance hangar size in Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park to meet increased demand

In response to growing demand in Asia, Jet Aviation Singapore is building a new maintenance hangar alongside its current maintenance and FBO operation in Seletar Aerospace Park. The existing hangar will be integrated into the new hangar, and will incorporate two stories of office space in addition to new battery, tire, upholstery and woodworking back shops, including two paint spray booths. The new maintenance hangar will encompass 7,500 sq m (97,500 sq ft), tripling the size of the current hangar.

Jet Aviation Singapore recently hosted a ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the commencement of construction of the new maintenance hangar. The event was attended by over 150 people, including Dan Clare, president, Jet Aviation; Gary Dolski, vice president and general manager, Jet Aviation Singapore; Lim Kok Kiang, executive director, Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB); and Leow Thiam Seng, director, Singapore Jurong Town Corporation.

The new hangar will have an arched roof reaching 24 m at its highest point — tall enough to accommodate a BBJ/ACJ aircraft. With direct access to the tarmac, the hangar’s apron will also be expanded by 9,300 sq m to allow Jet Aviation Singapore to better accommodate large aircraft.

“Our additional hangar space will permit up to five G650 or five Global Express 7000 aircraft and clearly improves our ability to accommodate large, long-range business jets, which are the preferred aircraft in the region,” says Gary Dolski. “This expansion further highlights our commitment to providing our clients the most benefit through continuous focus on quality, service, comforts and standards.

“We worked in close cooperation with Singapore’s Economic Development Board and JTC Corporation, the national developer of industrial infrastructure, to finalize our lease and conclude this expansion project agreement,” Dolski adds. “Their support is very much appreciated and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

On behalf of the Economic Development Board, Lim Kok Kiang said, “We are delighted by Jet Aviation’s decision to expand its presence in Singapore. We are committed to working with MRO companies like Jet Aviation to tap into Singapore’s skilled talent, supporting infrastructure and connectivity to better serve their regional customers.”

The JTC’s Leow Thiam Seng congratulated Jet Aviation on building its new extended hangar, noting, “With the new facility catering to larger aircraft, Jet Aviation is well-positioned to embrace the growth of MRO and business aviation in the region. This expansion reaffirms the company’s confidence in Singapore and will boost the strength of the aerospace cluster in Seletar Aerospace Park.”
