Duncan Aviation announces that Justin Merkling has been named manager of the company’s Engine Service Shop located in Battle Creek, Mich.

Merkling joined Duncan Aviation in 1999 as an aircraft technician. A graduate of western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in aircraft maintenance technology, Merkling moved into the Citation tech rep role in 2007. While in this role, he served on the NBAA Citation 500 Series Tech Committee and has been Duncan Aviation-Battle Creek’s Authorized Facility contact for Cessna.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. announces the appointments of Anthony Moreland as Vice President-Americas and Christophe Nurit as Vice President-Asia. Both have responsibility for the company’s commercial and foreign military sales in their regions along with all related strategic activities. They report to Carey Bond, President of Sikorsky Global Helicopters and Chief Marketing Officer for all of Sikorsky Aircraft, which is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

Charles Celli has been named vice president of  Gulfstream’s Savannah service center operations. In his new position, Celli is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the 680,000-square-foot facility, the largest in the world built specifically for maintaining business jets. Most recently, Celli worked for Jet Aviation in Basel, Switzerland, as senior vice president, Completions Services, Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) and Asia, and general manager of Jet Aviation Basel.  In Basel, Celli was responsible for facility management, supply chain management and quality, and represented the company externally to authorities and the local community.

Before taking over the Jet Aviation position in April 2009, Celli was vice president and general manager of Gulfstream’s facility in Dallas for six years.  

Celli received a bachelor’s degree in economics from California State University Long Beach and has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.  

Celli holds an airframe and power plant (A&P) license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

West Star Aviation recently welcomed the newest addition to its sales team, Dale Appleby, as technical sales manager. Dale will be based in Dallas, TX.

In his new position, Dale will be responsible for inside sales at the Dallas facility. In addition, he will handle various outside sales duties in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. Dale brings 18 years of experience in sales, operations, and business ownership to West Star Aviation.
