SPIRIT AERONAUTICS DELIVERS REFURBISHED CHALLENGER 604 INTERIOR

Spirit Aeronautics recently returned a Bombardier Challenger 604 aircraft back to its owner after an interior refurbishment that incorporated numerous enhanced features.

“This was one of those projects that is just absolutely compelling to talk about simply because of the complexity and the push for complete customer satisfaction beyond the norm”, states Tony Bailey, president & COO of Spirit Aeronautics. “The first challenging element was that the customer only had very narrow down-time time limitations so we designed, engineered and crafted the new interior elements over the span of a year before the actual refurbishment. This means we pulled and reinstalled the interior numerous times during brief down-time opportunities to make sure we pre-built everything we could so the actual task went as quickly as possible. In addition to the interior, we installed a new Rockwell Collins Venue Cabin Management System (CMS) and a state-of-the-art electrically actuated cabin door by Steecon, Inc.. In the end, the customer received exactly what they wanted in a timeframe that met their schedule.”

The Bombardier Challenger 604 was refurbished for a confidential customer and was completed in record time.
