SWAT

In July 2012, Southwest Airframe and Tank Services (SWAT) was approved by the FAA with changes to its C.R.S. ops specs, enabling it as a mobile Part 145 repair station to complete full onsite sheet metal structural repairs. In recent years, SWAT’s A&P/IA technicians have completed several major airframe repairs to include wing de-mates, door frame repairs, fuselage, tail section and wing skin repairs and replacements. SWAT specializes all types in airframe structural and aircraft fuel tank repairs.

In mid-2011, SWAT was FAA approved with an additional independent repair station at its southern Florida base of operations. The company now operates two separate repair stations — its main office in Dallas and another location in southern Florida.

SWAT is entering the final phases of AS9110A certification. SWAT is aiming for completion of this QMS by the end of 2012.
