V-Log has published a free eBook titled, "Twelve Common Logbook Mistakes and How to Prevent Them!"

V-Log notes that logbooks are vital to understanding the health, history and airworthiness of an aircraft, and are required by CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 14, Part 43 Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance and Alteration. Yet, in spite of the guidance set forth in FAR Part 43, the type and condition of information found in a majority of aircraft logbooks today runs from through and well organized, to utterly horrific with the information unorganized, unreadable or missing altogether. In many cases logbooks will also contain information that is not required by FAR 43 and is of no value to understanding the condition and/or airworthiness of the aircraft.
