ExperienceJob Title: Avionics MechanicJob DescriptionSeeking experienced Electronics Technicians to support a maintenance program in Lake Charles, LA. The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post based on the Boeing 707 platform, primarily used for long-range patrols and communications relay. The position involves working on the modified E-6B standard, responsible for relaying instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines.Responsibilities

  • Perform flight line pre/post flight systems checks.
  • Conduct flight readiness checks, gear swings, and flight control checks.
  • Support hanger avionics modifications and maintenance.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
  • Perform aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing tasks.
  • Determine sequences for installing, removing, maintaining, or repairing critical aircraft components.
  • Perform testing, rework, and repair in various fields of specialization.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering orders, schematics, and repair manuals.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain aircraft equipment.
  • Notify lead personnel of any malfunctions, defects, and damages.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with 10 years of Aircraft Avionics Experience.
  • Ability to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
  • Proficiency in using manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and electrical modification.

Additional Skills Qualifications

  • Preferred experience with E-6B aircraft.
  • Experience performing new modifications and testing.
  • Experience in implementing or developing new test procedures.
  • History of performing flight line pre/post flight systems checks.
